Campsite and Kayak Rentals
For folks who have some previous kayaking experience, we offer a private island campsite complete with kayak rentals. Our private wilderness campsite on Diana Island (part of the Deer Islands chain near Bamfield) rivals the nearby busier Broken Islands in both natural beauty and protection, without other campers. It is one of the most beautiful campsites we have encountered in all our travels along the entire west coast.
Instead of cramming kayaks with tents and sleeping bags, etc. for an island-to-island camping trip, your stay at our secluded campsite comes complete with all your car camping type of luxuries and fresh food (coolers recommended!).
Our large and completely natural and undeveloped campsite (except for pit toilet) offers magnificent views of sunrises and sunsets; sandy beach or grassy forest tent-sites and spectacular beach kitchen sites set amongst large pieces of drift wood, and an incredible intertidal viewing beachfront.
An enjoyable rocky headland scramble around our campsite headland is also a must do.
World-class salmon fishing exists just around the corner from our site. Many unique abandoned native village sites and features also abound in this area, including a World Heritage Village Site.
From this site we also offer weekly guided family or adult sea kayak tours and instructional programs and daily guided salmon fishing excursions.
Included in our campsite/kayak rental packages are comprehensive route planning ideas, complete with nautical charts and an emergency marine bandradio.
